WATCH: Rockford’s landfills could be turned into fuel for airplanes

Senator Tammy Duckworth met with local leaders and Monarch Energy Friday afternoon to discuss a proposed waste-to-energy facility in Rockford.

Duckworth met with Swedish and Dutch government leaders who pioneer the clean waste-to-energy technology. Her goal is to replicate the technology in Illinois. She is focused on bringing green energy practices and investments to Illinois because she says they will help create good-paying green jobs and improve environmental justice, reduce waste, expand energy supplies and strengthen businesses.

“We have the opportunity of turning our landfills into energy, into hydrogen power, into sustainable aviation fuel. That is going to make the earth better for our children and grandchildren and help us get rid of landfill waste and create hundreds and hundreds of good paying jobs,” Senator Duckworth says.

Duxion’s Successful Ground Test a Major Milestone for Revolutionary Electric Jet Propulsion Motor

Duxion Motors is celebrating the successful ground test of its patented eJet Motor, the electric jet engine poised to make high-speed electric aviation a reality. Completed in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada, the successful ground testing of the scaled prototype included both low-speed and high-speed testing.

Recipients of the United Nations’ 2018 Champion of the Earth Award for Entrepreneurial Vision, this 100% sustainable airport has set a strong example for every airport to follow. Not only did they achieve 100% solar power, they produced 60+ tons of organic vegetables under their solar panels last year.

Situated on the southwest coast of India, Cochin (aka Kochi) has been a cosmopolitan port and center of commerce since 1341, and has hosted trade from Arab, Chinese and European merchants almost continuously.
